Steve brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, gained from his highly successful roles in building services and energy management organisations over the past 35 years. Experience in account management, staff management, sales growth, decarbonisation strategies and team development has made Rees a top candidate for this next move.
One of his first tasks it to create a sales team from the ground up. No mean feat normally, but with his reputation as an outstanding leader and mentor, it won’t be long before he’ll stand 50 strong to achieve what he has set out to.
“I have strong connections with some amazing sales people so it feels like a very privileged position to be able to pick my own team. I have no doubt that we’ll have a full complement by Summer”.
Wattif EV’s aim is to accelerate the electrification of the global car park by providing hassle-free access to charging points in the UK and 5 other European countries.
“It’s a very exciting time to be involved in EV infrastructure. There is so much potential and it’s the key to success for the UK. I really believe we have an amazing proposition and I can’t wait to get started” says Steve.
“Destination charging is an area of growth, which goes hand-in-hand with the other charging options – home and rapid. The UK is desperate to address the EV charging demands of private, business and commercial drivers and I know we have the answer. This demand also sees the need for smart charging capability, and the Wattif EV model and client partnership agreements allows for existing installations to be upgraded to smart charging networks, and the all benefits of a smart charging infrastructure. I can’t wait to spread the word” he continues.
Wattif recognises the shortage of EV charging points across the UK and can offer a solution with multiple finance, operational, maintenance and profitability options.
Robert Svendsen, CEO of Wattif EV is delighted to have Steve onboard as Managing Director for the UK.
“I have the utmost confidence in his ability to take this business and run with it” says Svendsen.
At home, Rees has a passion for racing and is often seen marshalling at Goodwood.
“Whilst I know EVs are the way forward, I can’t resist a V8 in a classic racing car. There’s a great atmosphere paddock & trackside – I relish my time there” says Steve. He’s also a keen cyclist and loves being on the water.
Steve is looking forward to being part of Wattif EV and the revolution to combat climate change and enable the UK to hit its 2030 electrification targets.
