The deal includes a large network of charging points strategically located across the country. The transition ensures that users will continue to benefit from reliable, future-proof, and technologically advanced charging – now delivered via Wattif’s internationally established platform.
“Through our strategic partnership with Wattif as the new operator, we can offer our customers an even stronger proposition going forward. Charging services are an important part of Rexel’s customer offering, in combination with our broad product portfolio. This collaboration ensures that our investments and customer relationships are carried forward by a partner with high technical competence and a strong focus on sustainability,” says Stefan Lebrot, CEO of Rexel Sweden.
For Wattif, the acquisition reinforces the company’s Nordic expansion strategy. Since initial contact with Rexel in 2024, a close collaboration has developed, enabling a smooth migration of customers and operations to Wattif’s platform during spring 2025.
“Our collaboration with Rexel has been highly valuable for our growth in Sweden. Their solid groundwork and market presence have laid a strong foundation for continued development of charging infrastructure. This marks a clear signal of Wattif’s long-term commitment to the Swedish market and to supporting the transition to an electrified transport system,” says
Oscar Klingensjö, CEO of Wattif EV Sweden.
A step in a broader transition
Rexel plays a key role in enabling the electrification of the transport sector in Sweden in multiple ways, while Wattif builds upon this with solutions such as dynamic load balancing, integration with third-party services like Easypark, and energy optimization for properties and businesses.
The acquisition is a natural next step in Wattif’s strategy, where similar deals in countries like Norway have increased accessibility and capacity for EV drivers. At the same time, Rexel can continue to focus on its core offering: delivering complete technical solutions for electrification.
A growing market
EV sales in Sweden continue to rise rapidly, with over 40% of newly registered passenger cars in 2024 were electric. The need for reliable charging infrastructure is greater than ever, and the collaboration between Rexel and Wattif contributes to meeting this demand in a sustainable and long-term manner.
